Martin Hughes, Electrician
Martin, born and bred in Pembrokeshire, has over 40 years of experience in the trade. He left Secondary Modern Comprehensive School at the age of 15 to work with one of his relatives at Merlin Motors, Old Hakin Road, Haverfordwest, where he served his time as a motor vehicle technician but his ambitions always lay in the electrical industry.
In 1980, his uncle Howard Hughes, who had been running an electrical contracting company since the early 1950s, asked him to come on board. He attended Carmarthen and Swansea technical college to gain his electrical installation technician certificate. He remained with his uncle until 1997 at which point they agreed Martin would go off to explore his electrical knowledge elsewhere.
He joined the third biggest company in the world, the Swedish company Tetra Pak, travelling around the UK, covering high voltage, automated and pulsation, and robotic systems. He moved on in 2000 to a German company, Westfalia, where he studied to gain his degree in Electrical Engineering at Northampton College, after which, as agreed with his uncle Howard, he rejoined him (not that he really left as his heart was always with him) and together they opened up two subsidiaries – one in Northamptonshire and the second being in Harrow, North London.
In 2007, Howard decided to hang up his tool belt and Martin wanted to start his own business which is when P.E.M.B.S Limited was born where he continues to provide electrical services throughout the three counties of South West Wales – Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion, and Carmarthenshire.
The latest qualification Martin has gained was the 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations and Inspection and Testing in 2022.

P.E.M.B.S Limited is a local reliable family-run electrical business based in Pembrokeshire and also serving Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. We also provide a 24-hour emergency call-out service for existing customers.
We offer top-quality electrical services to domestic and commercial customers. We are a registered and approved contractor which means that every customer receives either an EICR (Electrical Insulation Condition Report) or an EIC (Electrical Installation Certification) or a MWEIC (Minor Works Electrical Installation Certification) upon completion of work.
P.E.M.B.S Limited Electrical Services specialises in partial and full rewires, electrical testing, and minor electrical maintenance works. We also specialise in the following areas:-
